The Player's Council was somewhat of a success? We were able to speak our minds and actually given our opinions about the areas that are lacking in a number of different subjects. Although most of it was spent discussing Quest Equipment, there was still progress made in a few other areas.

Strangle... used to be my best friend and I am glad we were able to put some effort into discussing that skill.

If we had better leadership and more of a well-thought out process we may have been able to talk about more things, but because Muergh isn't very good with coordination, we had a little trouble in that area.

Although it's not as if he was a true "leader" of the council anyhow, he was just there to bring some semblance to the place... mission success: pending...

I hope more people will give their opinions on the council and will take initiative in noting the Immortals with their ideas...

WE WANT YOU... for the Player's Council... Join today!

- Enjoy

The First Player's Council:

Well I for one think that the first players council went very well. I feel everything went just as it was intended to. Aule allowed us to gather under our own steam, and discuss improvements - and that's just what we did. This is only the very beginning though, and though I'm a bit late in getting around to this I'd like to point out that the outcome of this council will directly reflect the efforts that we as players put into the endeavor. I believe as Yatra pointed out, that there was some feeling that some things were not accounted for in the preliminary discussions; however I feel that this is to be expected. Rome, as it were, was not built in a day. Rather than spend any time on this post discussing what topics may or may not have been covered, I'd like to interject a suggestion that we spend a little time structuring the council itself. I agree with Yatra in that if we are to make any progress, perhaps we should elect someone(s) as moderator(s) for the purpose of organizing meeting times, taking notes, and refining those notes into the desired output - requests for improvements. Since I know that everyone else has a real life to attend to, I would suggest that we delegate the tasks in small portions so that those who take on said responcibilities are able to conviently and regularly perform them. I'm writing this on the fly, so off the top of my head I can think of a couple of roles...

Keymaster: this person would recieve notes from the player base, and determine when the optimal time is to hold council - when most people are able to attend for example, and then inform the player base when one is scheduled, and provide accomodations etc.

Voice: this person would be the moderator during the council, moving through the topic to be discussed, and perhaps keeping a running list of topics that are offered by players not able to attend when the council is held.

Scribe: this person would make note of any votes performed during council - and since it's a big world and inevitably not everyone will be able to make council - perhaps receive votes via note ingame on subjects discussed in council.

I am really excited about Council getting off the ground, and I would like to see it be a success. And by success I mean something that everyone can be happy with. I want before I wrap up to take a minute to thank everyone for the part they play here. Aule and Eru, thank you both for breathing life into Arda again - it is more than just an idle passtime for me, and I have a feeling that the same can be said for just about everyone here. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the first session of Council, and everyone who I have spoken to about it. Our discussions really make this more than just a hack and slash passtime and make Arda feel like a dynamic, breathing... living thing. One that I'm happy to be a part of.

I agree here with these ideas... If we can vote on a select few to to these jobs that would greatly increase our productivity as well as structure.

I also would like to second Bher's thanks... without you, Aule and Eru, we wouldn't have a great place like Arda which you guys put so much effort into and do not really get enough recognition of thanks for it.

... Good things in here Bher Very Happy...

I voted 'other' because I forgot about it, but I have since skimmed the posted log here and it looks like you guys talked about a lot, though I'm not sure how much was accomplished with all of the talking...

Either way, I think continuing the council sessions would be a good idea, and that we should probably establish some form of schedule for them.

ALso, as a side note: Im noticing that we don't seem to have much activity on the boards here, perhaps we should remind other players in-game to register their opinions on matters?

I voted other as obviously this happened a looonnngg time ago. But after reading through the notes I can see that a difference was indeed made. i also picked up some useful ingame info about eq. So I would happily attend any meetings just to listen, even if I had no opinion or experience in the days subjects. Cool
